From the moment you wake up, your mind is flooded with all the things you need to do. This can feel so overwhelming that you end up wasting time. 

A morning routine means you perform the same basic tasks in the same order every day. Doing that has many benefits to your quality of life.

A morning routine is said to boost happiness, increase productivity, reduce stress levels and get you grounded and settled for the day. It’s all about starting your day on the ‘right foot’. Morning routine benefits are both psychological and physical.


As with many things in life, small changes lead to big results. It’s the compounding effect. If you’d make only 1% progress every day, you’ll end up making approx. 30% progress per month, and think about what will happen in a year!

 What you do in the morning – good or bad – sets the tone for the day. And your habits – good or bad – determine the quality of your life. When you strat your morning with a good morning routine, you’re actually setting your mind to think that you control the day; the day doesn’t control you. This positive thinking and feeling of being on top of things has results in a positive feeling and effect on your entire day.



According to the psychologist Ron Friedman, the first three hours of the day are the most precious when it comes to productivity. “Typically, we have a window of about three hours where we’re really, really focused,” Friedman told Harvard Business Review. “We’re able to have some strong contributions in terms of planning, in terms of thinking, in terms of speaking well.”

TIP: Don’t check Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, or email first thing in the morning. Or you’re going to go down the rabbit hole of mindless scrolling for hours. In general, when checking social media (whether for work or chill time), try setting a timer. We can easily throw hours away checking what others have posted instead of being an active participant in our own lives.
